"WAVES OF RELIEF" for HURRICANE VICTIMS

Become a "Wave of Relief" to help East Haven hurricane victims:
1. Donate nonperishable food items and household necessities at designated collection points on the Green.
2. Donate a nonperishable food item at a participating food tent and receive a free soft drink or food discount.
3. Make a monetary donation at the amusement ride ticket booth or Information Tent.
4. Make sure you dispose of recyclable drink containers in the proper receptacles. Proceeds from the return of containers will benefit storm victims.

A Fall Festival Dedication In Memoriam

The Fall Festival Committee dedicates the 20th Annual East Haven Fall Festival to the memory of AnnLynne Carlson. AnnLynne was a dedicated member of our committee for many years, working tirelessly to make the Festival a source of enjoyment and pride for the entire community. The sentiments expressed in this dedication by her family aptly describe the feelings of the committee members as well. AnnLynne left us much too soon, but we will never forget her.

TOWN FAIR TIRE & ANNLYNNE CARLSON TO BE HONORED

Mary Cacace, President of the East Haven Chamber of Commerce and Michael Albis, President of East Haven Fall Festival, Inc. have jointly announced that Town Fair Tire and AnnLynne Carlson will be honored at this year’s 20th annual Fall Festival, which takes place September 9, 10 & 11th on the East Haven Town Green. 9/11 REMEMBRANCE EVENT CHANGE

The Public is invited to attend either or both of the following 9/11 ceremonies:

• 8:30 a.m. East Haven Volunteer Firefighters’ Association ceremonies recalling the events of September 11, 2001.

• 10:00 a.m. Group Remembrance of September 11, 2001.

Mayor April Capone, the East Haven Chamber of Commerce, and East Haven Fall Festival, Inc. have been busy preparing for this year’s installment of this community tradition, to be held on the Town Green from Friday, September 9, through Sunday, September 11, 2011. Read the President’s Welcome message from Mike Albis.

The general hours of operation for the Fall Festival’s rides, games, food vendors, and arts & crafts exhibitors are:
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th 6:00P.M. TO 11:00P.M.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th NOON TO 11:00P.M.
Road Race 9:00A.M. – Business Showcase 10:00A.M. – Rides open 11:00A.M.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th NOON TO 6:00P.M.
Car Show 9:00A.M.

Handicapped Parking and Drop–off

A limited number of handicapped parking spaces will be available during the Fall Festival on River Street near the Hemingway Avenue intersection. When all the spaces have been filled, drivers may still drop off handicapped passengers in the same area for easy access to the Green before parking their vehicles elsewhere. For access to the handicapped area, your vehicle’s handicapped parking permit must be displayed to the police officer stationed at the intersection of Hemingway Avenue and River Street.

PROHIITED ITEMS

Per local ordinance and by order of the Chief of Police, the public is advised that the following are prohibited from the Town Green during all hours of the Fall Festival:
1. Dogs or other animals, whether leashed or not, with the exception of trained dogs assisting the handicapped.
2. All bicycles or other two–wheeled vehicles, except those operated by police on duty.
3. Spray string, laser pointers, bang snaps, smoke bombs, stink bombs, or any other article whose purpose is to create an unreasonable offensive or noxious odor, noise or condition.

We thank Festival goers for their cooperation in making the event more enjoyable for all by observing these rules.

Merit Award Dinner & Ticket information:
The 2011 Annual Merit Awards will be presented at the Foxon Country House Restaurant on Thursday September 8th at 6PM kicking off the East Haven Fall Festival weekend. Tickets are $45 per person. Make checks payable to: East Haven Merit Award Committee.
