East Haven Community Classic Road Race
Saturday, September 10th at 9:30 A.M.
East Haven Town Green

The 5k Community Classic Road Race is part of the East Haven Fall Festival. This is a footrace allowing wheelchairs, in a certified 5k race, which is open to male and female participants in divisions from under 12 years of age to over 80 years of age. It includes a special high school runners team division. The race is a flat course which is run on streets throughout East Haven and is designed to achieve personal bests. The 5K Community Classic Road race has been T.A.C. sanctioned since its inception.

Packet pick up and registration will begin at 7:30a.m.
At 9:00a.m. the "Almost a Mile" Fun Run and Fitness walk will start.
Then at 9:30a.m. the 5K race begins.

T–shirts guaranteed for all pre–registered entrants and the first 100 on day of race. Trophies are awarded to the first male and female runners, the first East Haven male and female runners, and the first male and female runners in each division. 2nd and 3rd place runners in each division. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place high school runner’s team, both male and female are awarded a trophy.

All runners are treated to a continental breakfast after the race. Bagels, yogurt, and a wide range of juices are available courtesy of the Festival Committee.

Every corner of the race is manned by volunteers and intersections considered busy are manned by an East Haven Police Officer. A police car leads the race and follows the race as well as a Fire Dept. Personnel Vehicle. EMTs are also placed along the race route. Fire Dept EMT Personnel also will be available to runners at the finish line of the road race.

Timers are located at the 1and 2 mile markers to call out times. There is ample water available shortly before and after the 1 mile, and at the 2 mile of the race. Fruit, water and juice is immediately available to runners at the finish line.

AGE DIVISIONS (MALE AND FEMALE):
12 and under, 13–15, 16–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70–79 and 80+

This is a reminder that the Annual Community Classic Road Race will take place on Saturday September 11th between the hours of 8:45 and 10:30 AM. There will be no traffic allowed in either direction on the following streets:

Entrants can register online until September 3rd at Hitekracing.com, or get an application from the town hall, or call Race Director Ken Sittnick at 203–467–0863 or 203–996–6596.

FEES:
5K Race $12.00 before September 3rd, $15.00 September 3rd and day of race.
Walk $10.00 before September 3rd, $12.00 September 3rd and day of race.
Regular Fun Run $6.00
Elementary Challenge $3.00

Registration on race day begins at 7:30a.m. at the gazebo on the East Haven Town Green.
Fun Run participants please bring your completed applications to the green on race day.

The certified route remains the same as the first race. All the volunteers have returned and the East Haven Police, Fire, Parks Dept. and Public Works have again committed to make the Annual Community Classic Road Race a safe race.

From New London: I–95 South to Exit 52 (North High St.), Left off ramp to Main St., Left on Main St. to Town Green
From New Haven: Indash;95 North to Exit 51 (Frontage Rd.) At the second traffic light take right onto Hemingway Ave to the Town Green.
