- The Passing of the Flag to Mayor April Capone from Selectman Janet McCarty of North Haven on 1/6/09. The Town of East Haven will Host the Year 2009 Columbus Day Committee year long activities and the Parade on Sunday, October 11, 2009. View photos.
- Local Church Makes Generous Gift
Mayor April Capone and Veronica Wright Director of Social Services accept a donation of $1,500 from Christ Church Anglican of East Haven members Joanie Frost, Elaine Frost and Bet Frost.
- Fire Prevention Poster Contest
Fire Marshal Anthony Moscato announces Fire Prevention - Everyone/ Everyday poster contest winners.
- Mayor Almon attends the
Eastern States Presidential Inaugural Ball.
- Mayor Capone will fully support the Relay for Life of North Branford
and is asking you to join her. The Mayor will be hosting the first informational meeting on
Thursday, February 26th at 6:00 at the Foxon Fire House on Rt. 80 in East

- May 19, 2009 East Haven American Disability Act Committee Chairman Robert D. Hoff held the first ever "Evening of hope and help for those living with Autism".

- June 2, 2009 Town Hall Flocked!
Mayor April and her staffed arrived to work today to find the front lawn of Town Hall covered with over 50 hot pink flamingoes. View photos of Town Hall.
"You’ve been Flocked" is a fundraiser being done by the East Haven Predators. The Predators are a baseball team that is raising funds to go to Cooperstown, New York to compete with other 12 year olds from all over the country. To flock someone please contact 203–467–5450 and 203–841–7833.
- First Farmer’s Market of 2009
Visit the photo album from Sunday 7/12 to see the great selection of products. Join the rest of the community on Sundays from 9am to 1PM at Town Hall. Be sure to get there before the fresh bread and pies are gone!

- Heart Walk 2008
Mayor April and Team East Haven joined the American Heart Association in their Heart Walk at Light House Point in New Haven. Employees of the Town along with employees of the East Haven school system and students raised over $5,000. Team East Haven May 18th Heart Walk photos.
- Tip A Cop May 31, 2008
On Saturday May 31st The East Haven Police Department Held a TIP A COP at the Dunkin Donuts on Foxon Road in East Haven. They raised $861 for the Special Olympics.

Mayor Almon would like to thank the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local #1 and Gerry Marotti Union Business Agent. They recently donated their time and installed a tile floor that was donated by Atlantic Masonry of North Haven at the East Haven Ice Rink in one of the locker rooms. View

The Hays Early Learning Center invited Mayor April to help cook pancakes at the Pirate and Princess Pancake Breakfast on 10/18/08.
- Tree Donated for 2008 Annual Tree Lighting
On 11/12/08 the Perinetti Family of East Haven donated their evergreen tree for the Town Christmas Tree on the Green. The Perinetti family will be at the Town Green to light their tree at our annual Tree Lighting event on November 29th. View photos of the
