Judge Albis

The Hon. Michael A. Albis
Has served as East Haven’s Judge of Probate since January, 1999. A lifelong resident of East Haven, he has conducted a general practice of law in East Haven since his admission to the bar in 1978. Judge Albis has also served in the past as Assistant Town Attorney and as Town Attorney for the Town of East Haven. In November, 2006, Judge Albis was re-elected for his third four-year term. As a probate judge, Judge Albis is a member of the Connecticut Probate Assembly, the statewide organization of Connecticut’s probate judges.For more information visit CT Probate Judges.org.

Clerk Beverly Stanton, and Assistant Clerks Nancy Galus and Mary-Beth Cronk. Note: If you plan to visit the court for guidance, please phone in advance to arrange a meeting with the clerk responsibile for your type of case.
Hearings:
Most hearings of the East Haven Probate Court are held in the Mario Giaimo Conference Room on the lower level of Town Hall. The Court’s regular docket is held on Wednesday morning of each week. In addition, emergency hearings are held as necessary, and cases requiring more time than is available during the regular docket are specially scheduled for other days.

Tuesday: 9:30a.m. – 3:30p.m.

Friday: 9:00a.m. – 1:00p.m.
Closed on government holidays.

Forms:
The state probate system publishes forms needed to file with the Court. The forms may be obtained by calling or visiting the Probate Court, but common forms are available in "fillable" format via Internet download. Link to view & download common forms.
In a decedent’s estate current law generally requires the filing of a Connecticut Estate Tax Return. Go to CT Department of Revenue Services estate tax forms and information.
