The Public Services Department is subdivided into three units and directs the Parks Department. The Main Unit’s responsiblities include:
Construction and maintenance of roadways, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
Maintenance of all parks and school properties.
Leaf and Christmas tree pick up.
Street sweeping, sanding, and snow removal.
The preservation, care and removal of trees within the Town’s rights–of–way and/or public places.
Maintenance of Town vehicles and equipment
The Sanitation Unit with 1 part time employee.
Monitors access to the Town's Landfill.
The Building Maintenance Unit
Maintenance activities on Town owned buildings.
Maintains 19 buildings, all playscapes, dugouts,
bleachers, and irrigation in all parks fields and buildings.
LANDFILL INFORMATION & SCHEDULE
• Due to the near record snow, ice and cold, the Landfill will resume its Saturday schedule on March 14th.
• The Landfill is open for residents on every Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• During the next couple of weeks the Landfill will be open from 8:30 am to 3 pm as follows:
Friday, March 6th, Friday, March 13th, and Saturday, March 14th.
As always please visit the Town Clerk’s Office to purchase a landfill pass if using a pickup, box, dump, masonry truck, commercial plate cargo van, or trailer.
LANDFILL PASSES ARE REQUIRED! As we enter the Spring clean–up season, there seems to be some confusion among a number of residents as to required policies and procedures for obtaining a Landfill pass and entry into the site. Landfill passes are available for purchase at the Town Clerk’s Office (250 Main Street) daily during regular business hours. EFFECTIVE APRIL 12, 2010: YOUR VEHICLE REGISTRATION & BUILDING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A LANDFILL VOUCHER.
