Town of East Haven Connecticut Public Services

The Public Services Department is subdivided into three units and directs the Parks Department. The Main Unit’s responsiblities include:
Construction and maintenance of roadways, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
Maintenance of all parks and school properties.
Leaf and Christmas tree pick up.
Street sweeping, sanding, and snow removal.
The preservation, care and removal of trees within the Town’s rights–of–way and/or public places.
Maintenance of Town vehicles and equipment
The Sanitation Unit with 1 part time employee.
Monitors access to the Town's Landfill.
The Building Maintenance Unit
Maintenance activities on Town owned buildings.
Maintains 19 buildings, all playscapes, dugouts, bleachers, and irrigation in all parks fields and buildings.

The Department of Public Services oversees the Parks Department.

Parks is staffed with 7 employees.
Maintains 133 acres including:
School grounds, municipal grounds, beach grounds and playing fields.
Duties include cutting of grass and overall general grounds maintenance.
Professional painting of 20 playing fields.
Handles the issuance of practice permits.
preparation of all school field events.
Cleaning and maintaining Town Beach, Beach House & recreational areas.
Provides cleanup services for Memorial Day Parade, Fall Festival, Senior Day and the Fourth of July Fireworks.

Books, magazines, cardboard, clothing, rags, furniture, lawn furniture, rugs, padding, stereo, television, old pool filer, and VCR.

Broken glass, grill, lawn mower, plastic toys, plastic bins and containers, scrap metal, snow blower, tires, tools, and windows.
Brush or Scrap Wood
Brush, doors, fencing, leaves, limbs, old pool parts, and scrap wood.
