Prom Season 2013 Kicks off Dangerous Driving Events for Teens
The upcoming months will be filled with celebrations as East Haven teens mark prom and graduation as the end of their high school careers and launch into the summer months. Unfortunately, these months are the most dangerous times of the year for teenage driving. Liberty Mutual Insurance and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) recently completed a study of teen drivers in select cities which showed 23% admit to driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana or other drugs. Please take the time to have potentially life saving conversations with your teen divers about the importance of safe driving behaviors. View the study fact sheet for details.

RETAILER FORUM
The East Haven Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking and its community partners, the East Haven Police Department, Youth Service Bureau and The Connection, Inc. would like to thank the following businesses for attending the recent Retailer Forum regarding underage drinking: Barra’s Cafe, Beachhead Restaurant, East Haven Village Inn, Gelvani Liquors, L&L Fine Wines, Michael’s Cafe, Smitty’s Eastside Cafe, South Shore Wine and Yankee Discount Liquor. Addressing the issue of underage drinking requires a community wide effort. The support of these retailers in preventing the sale of alcohol to minors is a wonderful start.
