The East Haven Rotary Club is celebrating their 80th Anniversary of community service by the installation of a distinctive legacy “post” clock to be located in front of the Hagaman Memorial Library. The Rotary Club was officially formed on March 3, 1939 and has been providing various forms of community service to East Haven residents since that time. The club is part of Rotary International, which was founded in 1905 and remains the largest service organization worldwide, with a dedication indicated by their motto of “service above self”.

The clock will recognize 80 years of community service by the East Haven Rotary. To help with the substantial cost of this project, the club is asking for “clock sponsors”, which will be recognized on permanent bronze plaques placed on all four sides of its base. Plaque inscriptions are now available for $ 250 and will be strictly on a first come-first served basis, until all spots are filled.

Applications for the sponsorships may be obtained and paid for on the club’s website: www.easthavenrotary.org

In addition, applications and checks payable to East Haven Rotary Club, Inc. may also be given to any Rotary member or brought to the Club weekly each Thursday at Twin Pines Diner at 34 Main Street, East Haven from 6 to 7 pm. The club is a 501c3 corporation making donations eligible to be tax deductible.
