"Less Is More" – The Hagaman Memorial Library, 227 Main Street, presents a new reading discussion group centered on shorter pieces of nonfiction. According to recent studies reading nonfiction is a brain workout that may help improve our memories. At the Hagaman Library, we believe that reading short pieces of nonfiction is a great gateway to increasing our knowledge, improving our memories, increasing our ability to concentrate, and sharpening our conversational skills. Those interested in joining us and flexing their mental muscles can sign up at the library. Participants can pick up a copy of The Best American Science and Nature Essays 2016 at that time. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 6:30PM in the library’s DeMayo Room. For further information, contact the library at 203.468.3890.
Our first "Less Is More" meeting will help us briefly set our group ground rules. Discussion will be on the following 2 essays:
1. A Very Naughty Little Girl (p.66)
2. Perfect Nails, Poisoned Workers (p. 203)
Hagaman Library's book discussion groups are free and open to everyone. Copies of The Best American Science and Nature Essays 2016 are available at the library's front desk on the main level.
Extra evening and weekend parking for library events is available in the East Haven Town Hall parking lot across the street from the library and in the Stop and Shop lot behind the library accessible from Messina Drive.
