RE: Town Wide Revaluation – Effective October 1, 2016
 
An open letter to all East Haven Taxpayers/Residents:
 
                The Town of East Haven is concluding its Real Property Valuation process applicable to the State mandated revaluation schedule effective October 1, 2016.  Under the supervision of the Assessor, eQuality Valuation Services LLC has been contracted to assist in the implementation of the job.
 
                During the week of October 31st, eQuality will be forwarding an Assessment Change Notice/ Data Mailer to all property owners.  This form will provide each property owner with a new to old comparison of assessed values as well as pertinent data used to determine those values.
 
For this job to be truly successful, public participation is required as well.  Please take five (5) minutes to review the information on the data mailer portion of the form for any errors that may exist.  Any necessary corrections should be brought to our attention during this time, as retroactive changes will not be made.
 
Informal hearings, conducted by eQuality, will be held at the Hagaman Memorial Library on Main Street during the month of November.  Any taxpayer who disagrees with their new value or has discovered corrections that need to be made can make an appointment by either visiting the website or calling the phone number listed on the form.  Do not contact the assessor’s office for an appointment.
 
The schedule for hearings will be as follows:

Tuesday          November 8                   10 am – 8 pm
Wednesday    November 9                   10 am – 6 pm
Thursday        November 10                 10 am – 8 pm   
Saturday         November 12                 10 am – 5 pm   
Monday           November 14                 10 am – 5 pm
Tuesday          November 15                 10 am – 8 pm
Wednesday     November 16                 10 am – 8 pm
Thursday         November 17                 10 am – 8 pm
Friday              November 18                  10 am – 5 pm
 
Meeting Dates and times may be subject to change but not once an appointment is made.
