Residents - Sign Up For Town Alerts

(EAST HAVEN) July 8, 2020 — Mayor Joseph Carfora, the Mayor of East Haven announced that the town purchased a subscription Everbridge® a mass-notification that will allow the town to disseminate emergency and on-emergency information to those in the community that register.

Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli said the Town already has a limited use agreement based off the State of Connecticut’s reverse 911 system but its use is limited to life threatening emergencies and can only be used under the direction of the state in order to limit message fatigue or a high number of opt-outs. We felt it may be useful to have our own system to make townspeople aware of important events in town like street closures, modified hours at Town Hall, important dates or other non-emergent information such as bulk trash pick-up, street sweeping or modified parking notifications. The system dovetails nicely with the State managed system which is only for emergency use.

Mayor Carfora said, “this administration’s focus on transparency starts with getting as much information out to the public as practical and this system will help us do that when it’s appropriate to and will help us notify people in town who may not have internet access or email.”

Chief Marcarelli said that people can register for notifications by accessing https://member.everbridge.net/509490495488016/login and for those who do not have computer access can contact Tina Hedley in the Mayor’s Office who will guide them through the registration process at (203) 468-3205.
