Please click here for more information and full application

Trained Benefits volunteers from the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut help older adults find out about programs that can pay for Medicare premiums, prescription drugs, groceries, energy, property taxes, telephone assistance and more. Volunteers are located in senior centers, libraries, fairs and other community locations and events. Participants answer a few questions and are provided with information about programs that they may be eligible for.

Please bring the following information with you to your appointment (you do not need to bring documents-just the information itself):

• Monthly income (pension, social security, dividends and interest)
• Monthly expenses (heating, gas, electricity, water, telephone, rent or mortgage payments, medical expenses not covered by insurance)
• Asset information (savings, estimated value of home and car, life insurance benefits)
• A list of all current prescriptions

Below are some of the locations where you can meet with a benefits volunteer for a 1/2 hour appointment:

Hagaman Memorial Library, 227 Main St., East Haven
First Tuesday of each month, 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Day and time is flexible)
