RE:  600,000.00 in state bonding to the Town of East Haven.

$600, 000.00 In State Funds Secured for Public Safety Facility Study

On July 29th the State bonding commission voted to award the Town of East Haven $600,000.00 to evaluate suitable locations throughout town for a new public safety facility.  The bonding agenda is set by the Governor, and his support is central for any matter to move forward.

Upon formally hearing the news, Mayor Joseph Carfora stated, “It certainly isn’t a secret that the Town of East Haven’s infrastructure has significant limitations—for years the maintenance of our town buildings was irresponsibly ignored.  Something that we reported to our taxpayers within the first few weeks of my first term.”

This allocation will be used to evaluate what locations, if any, in town might be suitable for an enhanced public safety facility.

Mayor Carfora continued, “I want to thank Governor Lamont, and his Chief of Staff Paul Mounds, for recognizing some of the needs of East Haven; they share my sustained advocacy for First Responders. Our Governor’s efforts also indicate that he hears my concerns. The Governor’s support here is consistent with, and echoes the care, as well as the accessible leadership we saw from him during our hard-fought battle with the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

Finally, Carfora stated, “Nothing is more important than providing our first responders with the infrastructure, and the tools that they need to properly protect our citizens.”
