SCRCOG Housing Plan Survey To Be Completed By East Haven Residents
Dear East Haven Residents:
Per Connecticut General Statutes Section 8-30j, each municipality must prepare/amend, adopt, and submit an affordable housing plan by June 1, 2022, and at least once every five (5) years thereafter.
The Town of East Haven is a member of the South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG). The SCRCOG has hired a consultant, RKG Associates, Inc., to assist the member municipalities in developing a Regional Affordable Housing Plan, which will consist of thirteen (13) individual affordable housing plans, one for each of the participating member municipalities. RKG has developed a housing plan survey for completion by residents of the member municipalities. All East Haven residents are encouraged to complete the survey.
To complete the SCRCOG Housing Plan Survey, the online Survey can be found at https://scrcog.org/housing-plan-survey/ and the following URL address: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CN775ZT. The Survey is also being offered in paper format. Please see the attached paper version of the Survey and Survey flyer, with options in both English and Spanish. The Survey will be open until October 15, 2021. In addition, paper copies of the Survey are available through the Mayor’s Office at East Haven Town Hall, 250 Main Street, and completed paper survey responses may be returned to the Mayor’s Office for pick-up by the SCRCOG.
Please note that individual responses will be kept confidential to allow for the creation of a housing plan that is sensitive and responsive to the needs and concerns of all residents.
In addition to the completion of the Survey by residents, a community forum(s) will be held and a public hearing will be noticed on the draft Affordable Housing Plan.
