Town alert message: we are expecting a winter storm
Good afternoon this is Mayor Joseph Carfora,
We are expecting a winter storm to begin around midnight that will consist of heavy rain and winds coming in from the long island sound and will continue through high tide Friday morning. We anticipate moderate coastal flooding in our flood prone areas along the shore and Hemingway Avenue. The town beach parking lot is opened for those on the coast to relocate their cars during the storm. Public works and our police and fire departments will be on stand-by throughout the storm. As the situation develops, we will continue to update you via our social media platforms.
