Town of East Haven Splash Pad

Due to an extended dry spell Connecticut is experiencing various levels of drought conditions.  We have been informed that at the present time East Haven is facing  “moderate drought” circumstances.

As a result of these conditions The East Shore District Health Department has s recommends that we shorten hours of our splash pad in order to conserve water. In an email, to Michelle Benivegna, Assistant Director of Administration and Management, Amy Scholz, Deputy Director ESDHD stated “we feel the splash pad offers a way for residents to stay cool in the heat; but would suggest shortening the time open at the end of the day to help conserve water during this time.”.

“We certainly want to provide to summer activities and our splash pad provides that. So, it will not be closed. However, until further notice the hours of the splash pad will be noon until 6PM. We will continue to monitor this situation with ESHD..”  Recreation Director Liz Franco
