Energy Assistance Program 2023

The Town of East Haven Senior Center and Department of Social Services participates in the State of Connecticut Energy Assistance program. This program helps income eligible households pay their primary heating bill. The exact level of assistance is determined by household income, the number of members of a household, and whether there is a 'vulnerable" (age 60 or older oe under the age of 6) household member. Households with lower income levels are eligible for higher benefits. The amount of assistance may not be sufficient to cover a household's entire heating cost. Homeowners and renters may apply.

East Haven residents whose primary heating source is OIL, PROPANE, WOOD OR WOOD PELLETS can call 203-468-3297 for more information or to make an appointment. Applications for East Haven residents who heat with GAS or ELECTRIC will not start until DECEMBER 2023.

The Community Action Agency of New Haven (CAANH) operates the CT Energy Assistance Program that provides heating assistance to eligible households in East Haven, Hamden, North Haven and West Haven. Please note energy assistance benefits have been reduced by 40%, returning to pre-pandemic levels.
